FRANK JEFFERSON IS KILLED IN FALL

Companions Are Arrested for Investigation by Des Moines Police

Des Moines papers tell of the violent death of Frank Johnson, who for many years resided in Winterset and helped, as a carpenter, to build many of the best homes of thirty years ago.

The story of Jefferson’s death is that he fell from the Great Western railroad bridge in Des Moines Monday evening while trying to execute a dance for the entertainment of his companions, including his wife, and while under the exhilaration of liquor.

Mrs. Jefferson, with Mr. and Mrs. Phipps, were with him when he fell from the 30-foot bridge in instant death on the frozen ice and were held for investigation by the Des Moines police.
