DEATH MRS. SYLVIA NULL

Mrs. Sylvia Null, who had been ill for the past year, died at the University hospital in Iowa City, last Thursday evening, June 21st. Mrs. Null has been in poor health for several years, and last year was critically ill with diabetes and complications. She was taken to the Iowa City hospital at Iowa City at that time, but was later returned to Winterset. Her condition continued to grow worse and on Thursday they had taken her in an ambulance, to Iowa City. She died shortly after arriving there.

Mrs. Null was 66 years of age. She was the former Sylvia Smith, daughter of A. B. and Sylvia Julia Smith. She was born here, December 5, 1867. Her girlhood was spent in Winterset and on September 30, 1886, she was married to Finley E. Null. They were the parents of three children, who survive the mother, Carleton E. Null of Chicago, Mrs. Mabel Hardcastle, of Bristow, Oklahoma, and Earle of Winterset. Mr. Null died September 16, 1932. She also leaves a grandson, Jack Null, and a sister and a brother, Mrs. Bert Benge of Grand Junction, Colorado and Warren Smith of Winterset.

When a child she united with the Presbyterian church of Winterset. On June 5, 1916, she became a member of Crown Rebekah lodge of Winterset, and as long as her health would permit, was an active member. She was a member of the American Legion auxiliary and helped to organize the Co. A. Comfort club during the World War.

The funeral services were conducted at the Tidrick Funeral Home, Sunday, June 24, at 3 p. m., by the Rev. P. R. Stevens of Capitol Hill Church of Christ of Des Moines. Mr. Stevens is the brother-in-law of Mrs. Earle Null. Crown Rebekah lodge assisted in the services. Pallbearers were: Major Chas. Alkins, Oren Adams, James Silliman, Robert Vance, Fonda Creger and Stanley Krell, all former members of Co. A. 168th infantry.The
