ALICE MAE WARD TRURO SUCCUMBS

Formerly of Winterset, Had Made Home in Truro Since 1900

Alice Mae Ward, a long-time resident of Madison county, died in Winterset last Friday. She was 64 years of age.

Miss Ward was the daughter of J. W. and Ellen Tansy Ward and was born at Riverside, Ia., on March 8, 1878. She came to Winterset as a child and received her education in the public schools here. In 1900 she moved to Truro which had since been her home.

Her near surviving relatives are several sisters and brothers.

Funeral services were held from the Kale Funeral home at Truro Sunday, in charge of the Rev. W. W. Watson. Burial was made in the St. Charles cemetery.

Alice Ward Dies

Miss Alice Ward, who has been in poor health for some time and was cared for in her own home and later brought to Winterset. Passed away in the local hospital on January 8, at the age of 64.

She had made her home in Truro since 1900, where she worked as a clerk in a general store for about 25 years.

She is survived by five sisters and four brothers, several nieces and nephews.

The funeral services were held on Sunday, January 10, at the Kale funeral home, in charge of Rev. W. W. Watson. Interment was made in the St. Charles cemetery.
