82-Year-Old Citizen Was Life-Long Resident of County
One of Winterset's most venerable citizens, James H. Guiberson, died at his home here last Thursday at the age of 82 years.
Mr. Guiberson was a life-long resident of this county. He was born here on May 3, 1858, the son of Nathaniel and Sarah Guiberson. He was married to Barbara Kale, and they were the parents of seven children, three of whom, Blanche, Roy and Harry, preceded their father in death. His wife died in 1935.
He is survived by four children, Clarence Guiberson of Winterset, Mrs. Eva Jones of Winterset, Mrs. Fay Chapman of Adel, and Mrs. Leona Myers of Des Moines; three brothers, Byron Guiberson of Kennyville, Wash., Dow Guiberson of near Winterset, and Ray Guiberson of Montana; in addition to a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held last Saturday from Anderson's home for funerals, in charge of the Rev. L. F. Davis. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.

Pioneer Resident Is Buried Saturday Afternoon At Age 82
Funeral services for James Guiberson, 82 years of age, who died at his home in the east part of Winterset, Thursday of last week, were held Saturday afternoon at two o’clock in the Anderson Funeral home. Rev. L. F. Davis officiated at the service and burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
James Harvey Guiberson was the son of Sarah and Nathaniel Guiberson and was born in Madison county, May 3, 1858. He was united in marriage to Barbara Kale who preceded him in death Sept. 6, 1935. They were the parents of seven children, three of whom are deceased, Blanche, Roy and Harry.
Those who survive him are four children, Clarence at home, Mrs. Eva Jones of Winterset; Mrs. Fay Chapman of Adele; Mrs. Leona Myers of Des Moines; also several grandchildren and great grandchildren; three brothers, Byron of Kenney Ville of Washington; Dow of Winterset and Ray of Montana.
