Thursday, December 4, 1902Death of Z. M. SMITH
The funeral of Z. M. Smith, who was shot and killed on a ranch near Ft. Worth, Texas, was held from the home of the deceased's sister, Mrs. Geo. Johnson, of Douglas township, on Monday.
The funeral services were held at West Star church and the interment at Stringtown cemetery by the side of a little daughter, who died some years ago.
Geo. W. Smith, who lives on the Bluffs road in Webster township, is also a brother of the deceased, who at the time of his death owned a ranch near Ft. Worth, Texas, but formerly lived near Greenfield.
The particulars of his death are meager, but he was shot and killed by a neighboring ranchman in a quarrel, that resulted from stock breaking through a line fence.
