MRS. SARAH BAKER OF PERU IS DEAD

Born In Georgia, Died Here Monday at Winterset Hospital

Mrs. Sarah Ann Baker, a long-time resident of the Peru community, died at the Winterset hospital Monday. She was 86 years of age.

Mrs. Baker was a native of Georgia, but had spent most of her life in Madison county. She was married to John Baker on March 8, 1876. They were the parents of 12 children, four of whom preceded their mother in death. Mr. Baker died in 1932.

The surviving children are Rufus Baker of Lorimor, Mrs. Bertha Madsen of Askov, Minn., Joe and George Baker of Topeka, Kan., Mrs. Minnie Sheppard of Scranton, Kan., Mrs. Nettie Green of Lebo, Kan., Mrs. Elsie Kirsch of Peru and Thomas Baker of Macksburg. She also leaves 40 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held here Wednesday from the Anderson home for funerals, in charge of the Rev. Tom Foglesong, pastor of the Church of Christ. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
