MRS. HENRY IMES OF ST. CHARLES PASSES

Succumbs While Visiting at the Home of Her Son in Omaha

St. Charles (Special)--Mrs. Luella Brooker Imes passed away early Saturday morning, Oct. 25th at the home of her son, Mr. and Mrs. Newell Imes in Omaha, where she had gone to visit three weeks ago. While she had been in very poor health for a number of years her death came unexpectedly.

Mrs. Imes came to St. Charles as a bride, in 1901, when she was married to Henry Imes who preceded her in death in May of this year.

She was a member of the Methodist church, and also of the Eastern Star order. Of her immediate family there is one son, Newell, another son, George, dying in infancy, and one sister, Mrs. Ida Coe of Des Moines, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Rev. L. M. Kirby conducted her funeral services Monday afternoon in the Methodist church, and burial was made in the St. Charles cemetery.

MRS.IMES, 72, DIES SUDDENLY

Funeral Services Held For St. Charles Woman on Monday

Mrs. Henry Imes, a resident of St. Charles the past forty years, died very suddenly at the home of her son, Newell in Omaha, Nebraska, Saturday morning. Mrs. Imes had left St. Charles three weeks ago planning to spend the winter with her son.

Louella Brooker , the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Brooker was born in Jefferson township, Madison county, November 14, 1869. Her father was a veteran of the Civil war coming from Clayton county in 1867, settling near Jefferson Center. Her mother came with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Hubbard the north part of Lee township in 1853.

She was married to Henry Imes of St. Charles July 29, 1901 which had been her home since that time. Mr. Imes died May 6 of this year. She was a member of Model Chapter O. E. S. of St. Charles and of the Methodist church.

The surviving relatives are one son, Newell J. of Omaha and one sister, Mrs. Otto Coe of Des Moines.

Funeral services were held in the Methodist church Monday afternoon, conducted by her pastor, Rev. Kirby, assisted by Rev. John Arnold. Burial was made in the St. Charles cemetery.

Music was furnished by Mrs. Carrie Guilliams, Mrs. Mary Crawford with Mrs. Arlie Johnson at the piano. Pall bearers were Ross Strain, H. V. Brooks, H. A. Mueller, C. C. Guilliams, C. N.. Downs and Don Downs.
