JOHN CAMPBELL DIES

John Able Campbell, a resident of Madison county since 1903, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Theo Harrell, south of Winterset, on March 25th. He was 84 years old. He had been in poor health for a number of years and seriously ill for the past seven weeks.

Mr. Campbell was a pioneer in Iowa. He was born in Jasper county, Indiana, October 27th, 1849 but moved to this state with his parents in 1854, settling in Adams county. In 1884 he was married to Julia Ann Conrad of Osborne City, Kansas, and they were the parents of two daughters, one of whom died in infancy.

In 1903, Mr. Campbell moved his family to this county, settling in the Zion community. Following the death of his wife in 1926, he has made his home with Mrs. Harrell.

In addition to his daughter, Mrs. Harrell, the deceased is survived by two sisters, Mrs. D. A. Stinman of Fontanelle, and Mrs. Hattie Linn of Downs, Kansas.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Winterset Tuesday afternoon. The Rev. L. H. Lanning was in charge. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
