Page 1Death of Mrs. Amanda Hultz
Mrs. Amanda Hultz, who has been in poor health for several months, died Sunday, July 22nd, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lloyd Fleming, south of Winterset. Mrs. Hultz was 66 years of age, and had lived in Madison county, most of her life. She was the former Amanda Bell Pomeroy and was born in this county, December 24, 1867.
Her marriage to Grant Willcox of St. Charles, took place, March 3, 1889 and they were the parents of five children, three of whom survive her: Mrs. Lester Mahan of St. Charles, Mrs. Lloyd Fleming of Winterset, and Glen Willcox of Winterset. Mr. Willcox died September 6, 1909, and she was married to George Hultz on March 22, 1922. He died November 26, 1929, at their home in the east part of Winterset and since then she has lived with her children.
In early life she became a member of the Methodist church of Union Chapel, and the Rev. A. R. Weed conducted her funeral services at that church Tuesday afternoon, July 24, at 2:30 o’clock, and burial was in the church cemetery.
In addition to her three children Mrs. Hultz leaves five grandchildren, one great grandchild, and two sisters and two brothers. The brothers and sisters are as follows: Mrs. M. F. Sayre of Mullinville, Kansas, Mrs. George Hill of Adair, J. C. Pomeroy of Holdrege, Nebraska, and E. E. Pomeroy of St. Charles.
