Had Been Resident of This County Three-Fourths of Century
James W. Howe, a resident of Madison county since 1869, died March 24 at his home at Truro. He was 84 years of age. (d. 3-24-1944).
Mr. Howe was born at Washington, O., on Sept 3, 1859 the son of John and Nancy (Walm) Howe. When he was 10 years old he came with his parents to this county and here spent the rest of his life.
He was married to Etta Ellen Walker on Oct. 10, 1880. They were the parents of two sons and two daughters, the two sons preceding him in death.
He is survived by his wife; the two daughters, Mrs. Elsie Miller of Truro and Mrs. Nancy Peek of Welston, Okla.; and a sister, Mrs. Laura Mease of Peru.
Funeral services were held March 27 from the Truro Methodist church in charge of the Rev. J. C. Moore. Burial was made in the Ebenezer cemetery.
