Van Meter--(Special)--
Clarence H. Pritchard, 33, former Van Meter and Madison county resident, died last Wednesday noon at the Des Moines General hospital from a fractured skull suffered Tuesday night, in a collision between his motorcycle and an automobile.
The accident occurred at S.W. Ninth street and Lacona avenue in Des Moines. William Schmidt, 19 of Des Moines, driver of the car, was issued a summons charging failure to yield right of way, on a left turn.
Mr. Pritchard, who was commonly known as "Bud", was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Elias Pritchard, of Van Meter. He was born on the home farm southeast of Van Meter, in Madison county, on Dec. 17, 1907. He spent most of his boyhood days on the farm with his parents. He attended Union Chapel United Brethren church were he was baptized as a boy. He and his twin sister, Clara, were students in the Van Meter high school.
In June, 1931 he was united in marriage to Elsie Bennett. One son, Wayne, was born to their union.
For the past eight years they have lived in Des Moines where he had been employed as a fender repair man for the Crescent Chevrolet company.
He leaves to mourn, his wife, Elsie, his son Wayne, 9, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elias Pritchard of Van Meter, six sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Baker of DeSoto, Mrs. Susie Eichner of St. Charles, Mrs. Lula Hawkinson of Jefferson, Mrs. Carrie Lauterbach and Mrs. Clara Carey of Des Moines, and Mrs. Sophia Clark of Earlham, nine brothers, Jerry and Martin of Van Meter, James and Elias, Jr., of Winterset, John, Samuel, Nelson, Harry and Fred of Des Moines, nineteen nieces and fourteen nephews.
Funeral services were held at the Hamilton funeral home in Des Moines at two o'clock Sunday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. E. A. Elliott. Burial was made in the Montpelier cemetery at Patterson.

BURIAL SERVES FOR CLARENCE PRITCHARD HELD AT MONTPELIER ON SUNDAY
Burial services were held at the Montpelier cemetery Sunday for Clarence Pritchard who was fatally injured in a motorcycle accident in Des Moines. Mr. Pritchard was an uncle of Mrs. Artist Stump and a nephew of Mrs. Tena Duff who lives with Mrs. Sam Blosser. Mrs. Pritchard is a cousin of Everett Quick. Mrs. Duff attended the funeral services in Des Moines.
