J. D. JOHNSON DIES

J. D. Johnson, former Madison county resident, received fatal injuries in a fall at Cordova, Neb., Aug. 31st and died shortly afterwards, according to word received here last week.

Mr. Johnson who was 67 years of age, was a building contractor and spent most of his life in Nebraska. He and his family lived in Winterset from 1941 to 1943., then returned to Seward, their former home.

He is survived by his wife and their seven children; four sons, all in the armed forces, Lieut.(j. g.) Grant Johnson of Ostorio, Oregon, Staff Sgt. Jack Johnson of the army air forces at Pueblo, Colo., Sgt. Warren Johnson of the army air forces in England and Pvt. Bob Johnson of Camp Wolters, Texas; and three daughters, Mrs. Page Paulson of Beaver Cross, Neb., Mrs. E. P. Hanson, who is residing with her mother while her husband is at Camp Van Dorn and Miss Esther Johnson of Seward.

Funeral services were held at Seward, Tuesday, Sept. 5th and burial was made at the nearby town of Cordoys.
