ELVIS STOUT, FORMER BARBER HERE, DIES

Elvis Stout, a former Winterset barber, died Monday Aug. 16, at Mercy hospital in Des Moines after a brief illness. He was 57 years of age.

Mr. Stout had been visiting in Des Moines at the home of his son, Louis Stout, when he was stricken with an internal hemmorhage. He was taken to the hospital Sunday but lived only a few hours.

Mr. Stout was a son of Elvis and Margaret Stout and was born in the Tileville neighborhood east of Winterset. He worked as a barber in Winterset for several years, leaving here in 1926. He had made his home in Villisca the last six months.

He is survived by two sons, Louis of Des Moines and Elvis of Oklahoma City and one grandson.

Funeral services were to be held this Wednesday afternoon from the Dahlstrom Chapel in Des Moines, with burial in the cemetery at Patterson.
