MRS. FRANK SMITH RITES HELD THURSDAY

Funeral services were held Thursday for Mrs. Frank Smith, whose death occurred March 30 at the Carter Nursing home in Winterset where she had been a patient for the last five years. She was 71 years of age.

Mrs. Smith was the former Ruth Denton, daughter of Barnett and Mary Denton and was born near Lorimor Oct. 22, 1882. She was married to Frank Smith in 1903. His death occurred in 1949.

She is survived by two sons, Clarence Smith of Van Meter and Lee Smith of Knoxville, a daughter, Mrs. Glen Hess of DeSoto; seven grandchildren; and three brothers, Roy Denton of Thayer, Charlie Denton of Lorimor and Arthur Denton of Mt. Ayr.

The services were held from the Anderson home for funerals here, conducted by the Rev. George DeF. Fisher, pastor of the Winterset Presbyterian church. Burial was made in the Clarke cemetery southwest of Winterset.
