JOSEPHINE LUCAS DIES SUDDENLY

Josephine Lucas, a resident of Winterset for 43 years died suddenly Sunday, April 4, during a heart attack. She was 54 years of age. She had not been well, but her condition was not regarded as serious and death came unexpectedly Sunday evening.

Miss Lucas was the daughter of Henry and Neva Lucas. She was born in Madison county April 20, 1899 and spent her entire life here. In 1911 she moved with her mother to Winterset, and this community had been her home since that time.

She was educated in the rural schools and in the Winterset public schools. She had been a member of the Methodist church since early life.

Her father preceded her in death in 1902. She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Neva Lucas and a cousin, Joe Guiberson, both of Winterset.

Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Richards Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Glenn Parrott, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
