LORIMOR-Mrs. Bessie Loomis died at her home north of Lorimor Saturday, May 8, after an extended period of failing health. She was 78 years of age.
She is survived by her husband, Lewis Loomis; a daughter, Mrs. Dora Thurman of Murray; six sons, Walter Loomis of Lorimor, Homer Loomis of Murray, Oscar Loomis of Grant's Pass, Ore., Fred Loomis of Rock Island, Ill., Carl Loomis of Matherville, Ill. and Neal Loomis of Des Moines.
Funeral services were held Monday from the Lorimor Methodist church, conducted by the Rev. William Teeters and the Rev. C. M. Rowe. Burial was made in the Barney cemetery.

MRS. BESSIE LOOMIS SERVICES HELD MAY 10
Funeral services were held May 10 from the Lorimor Methodist church for Mrs. Bessie Loomis, whose death occurred May 8 at her home near Lorimor. She was 78 years of age.
Mrs. Loomis was the former Bessie Belle Simpson, daughter of Samuel and Eliza (Dunaway) Simpson. She was born near Barney May 27, 1875. On Dec. 13, 1894 she was married to Lewis A. Loomis. They were parents of eight children, one daughter dying in infancy.
Surviving are her husband; seven children, Oscar Loomis of Grant's Pass, Ore, Carl Loomis of Matherville, Ill., Fred Loomis of Rock Island, Ill., Neal Loomis of Des Moines and Homer Loomis and Mrs. Charlie Thurman of Murray and Walter Loomis of Lorimor. She also leaves 17 grandchildren; one great grandchild; two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Gearhart of Des Moines and Mrs. Anna Sterling of Adel; and a brother, Jesse Simpson of Fullerton, Nebr.
The Revs. W. S. Teeters and C. M. Rowe officiated at her funeral services. Six grandsons served as pall bearers. Burial was made in the Barney cemetery.
