Van Meter--(Special)--July 19.
Augusta Henrietta Storck, member of a widely known Madison county family living north of Winterset, died July 14 at the age of 70 years. She had been suffering from heart trouble since last October and her death occurred suddenly in Van Meter as the result of an embolism.
Miss Storck was the daughter of George and Henrieta Storck, and was born in Madison county on June 2, 1871. She was baptized in the Lutheran faith and was a member of the first class to be confirmed in the then new Trinity Lutheran church in Jefferson township.
She was the oldest of a family of nine children, two of whom have preceded her in death. The survivors are Lucy, Richard, Ernest, Fernanda, Paul and Walter Storck. She also leaves four nephews, Paul and George Gordon, and Van and Theodore Storck.
She was active in church circles there all her life. She was the organist of the congregation for about 50 years, and the secretary of the Ladies' Aid ever since its organization in 1918.
Funeral services were conducted from the church Thursday afternoon July 17, in charge of the pastor, the Rev. C. Lilie. Burial was made in the Lutheran cemetery.
