Death of Mrs. Edith Hale

Mrs. Edith Hale, former Winterset resident and daughter of Mrs. Charles Brown, died at the Denver hospital Sunday noon, May 10, following an illness of two months. Mrs. Hale who was 41 years of age had been in poor health for several months, but her condition became critical three weeks ago. She was taken to the hospital, where a major operation was performed. Pneumonia developed and death came at 12:45 o.clock Sunday.

Mrs. Hale, who was the former Miss Edith Brown, was born in Winterset, October 31, 1894. She was graduated from the Winterset high school with the class of 1911 and attended the Capital City Commercial college in Des Moines. She was employed at the Utica store there and was married to Lester Hale of Winterset, October 31, 1914. They were the parents of twin daughters, Mary and Martha. The family has lived in Denver for the past six years and until her recent illness, Mrs. Hale was employed in the ready-to-wear department of May's store.

Mrs. Hale leaves her husband, her daughters, Miss Martha and Mrs. Mary Pacheco of Denver, her mother, Mrs. Charles Brown and her sister, Mrs. L. L. Blomgren of Winterset. Her father, the late Charles Brown, died January 24, 1931.

Mr. and Mrs. Blomgren were summoned to Denver by her illness on May 4th and remained in Denver for the funeral services. The services were held at the Boulevard Mortuary in Denver, Tuesday morning May 12th at 11 o'clock and burial was made in Denver.
