Wednesday, November 30, 1938Ralph Williams, son of L. G. and Alice Williams, was born Dec. 9, 1894, at Prescott, and died Nov. 19, 1938, at his home in Winterset, at the age of 43 years, 11 months and 10 days.
He had served 9 months in the World war, and belonged to the 51st infantry.
After coming back from the war he stayed at home with his parents until his marriage to Miss Elma Campbell of Prescott, on Sept. 2, 1923.
His mother and two brothers preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, his father, five brothers and four sisters, Robert and Everett Williams of Corning, Elmer, William Williams and Mrs. Neil Lewis of Prescott, Mrs. Lilly Foy of Creston, Mrs. Etta Lewis of Afton, Mrs. Nora Young of Lenox, Forrest Williams of Zion, Ill.
Mr. Williams had lived all his life at Prescott except the 15 years spent in Winterset.
Short services were held at the Ramsey-Richards funeral home at 10:45, Monday, Nov. 20th, followed by services at the Methodist church at Prescott at 2:30 in the afternoon, conducted by the Rev. Ross C. Mauck of the Four-Square church, with burial at the Evergreen cemetery at Prescott.
The pallbearers were six of his nephews.
