DEATH OF FRANKLIN CRAWFORD

St. Charles, (Special), March 28th.

Franklin Crawford passed away at the Mercy hospital in Des Moines early Thursday morning after five days of intense suffering from a complication of diseases. He was 66 years of age and for the past 19 years had lived in St. Charles, although he had lived on his farm near town many years previous to this time.

Mr. Crawford was always interested in the better things of life, and by his honesty and fair dealing, made and kept numberless friends. He will be sadly missed in the Christian church and Sunday school which he so faithfully attended.

He is survived by his wife, and two sons, Perry of Los Angeles, Cal., and Jessie of St. Charles, two daughters, Dortha and Ruth, both at home, and three granddaughters. Others who will grieve at his passing are his sister, Mrs. Amy Montgomery of St. Charles, three brothers, Pearl and Clinton Crawford of St. Charles, and Albert of Tulane, Cal., and many other relatives.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Christian church and burial was in the St. Charles cemetery. The pallbearers were all old time friends: Albert Armstrong, Harold Tuttle, H. V. Brooks, J. D. Clanton, Neal Flack and J. S. Knight.
