St. Charles (Special) Feb. 21 - George A. Neal, an old and highly esteemed citizen of St. Charles, passed away at his home early Saturday morning. He had been in poor health for a number of years and only two weeks ago he and his wife came home from California, where they had gone thinking the change in climate might help his condition. Failing in this, they returned home and the end came suddenly and unexpectedly.

Mr. Neal was 75 years of age, and had lived in St. Charles 41 years, and practically all of that time had been engaged in business, and for more than twenty years had been in the hardware business, several years ago taking his son, Harvey, in as a partner.

He and Mrs. Neal reached their 49th wedding anniversary on the day of his death. Mr. Neal will be sadly missed not only in the home, but in the business world and the church were he so faithfully attended as long as his health permitted.

He is survived by his wife and seven children, Mrs. Ilo Eastman and Mrs. Beatrice Bishop of Seattle, Wash., Mrs. Iris Bell of Murray, Mrs. Gladys Black, Mrs. Geneva Pahre, Mrs. Edith Winter and Harvey all of St. Charles, twenty-one grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.
