Mrs. Mildred McGuire Dies

Mrs. Mildred McGuire, 27, of Valley Junction died at the Methodist hospital in Des Moines, December 24th following an illness of two days.

Mrs. McGuire was born in Madison county, the daughter of Clifford and Mabel Lull Ryner, who formerly lived in Union township. Clifford Ryner died 18 years ago. She was the niece of W. A. Ryner, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Lull of Union township. Mrs. Wayne Detrick, William Ryner, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Lull and Orloff attended the funeral which was held at the Christian church in Valley Junction on Sunday afternoon. Burial was made in the Rest Haven cemetery at Valley Junction.

MORTUARY - MRS. CHAS MCGUIRE

The many friends of Mrs. Chas McGuire were grieved to learn Thursday of her death after a two day illness at her home. She was an employee of Skondras Confectionery, Des Moines, and had worked there until two days before her death.

Funeral services were held Sunday December 27 at 2:30 at the Church of Christ, conducted by Rev. Alva Browning. Burial was in Resthaven cemetery. An usually large crowd attended the service.

Obituary follows:

Mildred Ryner McGuire was born November 14, 1909 at Winterset, Iowa, where she lived for five years then moved with her parents to Springfield, Minnesota, where they resided until the year 1924, when they moved to Valley Junction, Ia. She was a member of the Methodist church of Valley Junction and also attended the Valley Junction public schools after which she was employed by the Northwestern Bell Telephone company and the Skondras Confectionery until 1936. She was united in marriage to Charles C. McGuire of Valley Junction at Rock Island, Illinois on April 7, 1933.

She was preceded in death by her father, Clifford Ryner, in 1919. She is survived by her husband, mother, stepfather, one sister, Mrs. Chalmer Cissell of Sarasota, Florida, two brothers, Loyd of Hartford, Iowa, Cecil of Valley Junction and two half-brothers, Walter and Billie and grandfather, Mr. Olaf Lull of Valley Junction, beside other relatives and a host of friends.
