Harry Grant Saxton, a resident of Macksburg and Madison county for more than 60 years, died last Saturday at the Methodist hospital in Des Moines after an illness of 10 days. He was 73 years old.

He was the son of Harris and Mary Saxton, and was born in Muscatine county on May 26, 1865. At the age of 12 years, he came to Macksburg with his parents, attending school there and later engaging in farming.

In 1890 he was married to Miss Myrtle Sawyers, who died the following year. In 1895 he married Miss Cora Berry. She succumbed suddenly on December 26, 1913.

To this latter union were born three sons, all of whom survive their father. They are H. M. Saxton of Winterset, Ralph Saxton of Lorimor, and Chester Saxton of South Bend, Ind. He also leaves a sister, Mrs. Charles H. Brock of Des Moines.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from the church in Macksburg. Burial was made in the Moon cemetery there.
