Mrs. J. G. Bennett, a former resident of Macksburg, died in Los Animas, Colorado, October 10th at the age of 82 years, at the home of her son. She is survived by her husband, James G. Bennett, one daughter, Mrs. Ed Schulte of Genoa, Nebraska, one son, Rex M. Bennett of Los Animas, Colorado, two sisters, Mrs. O. E. French of Kansas City, Missouri and Mrs. Charles H. Brock of Des Moines and one brother, H. G. Saxton of Macksburg and four grandchildren.
Mrs. Bennett will be remembered as Angie Saxton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harris Saxton, pioneer residents of Macksburg. She taught school in the Madison county schools and was married to James G. Bennett in 1886 and lived in Macksburg until 1910 when the family moved to a farm near Belgrade, Nebraska, where they lived until two years ago when they moved to their son's home in Los Animas. Funeral services and interment were held in Los Animas.
Mont Saxton, deputy county treasurer of Madison county is a nephew of Mrs. Bennett.
