Farmer Living Southwest of Truro Hangs Self in Barn
Truro (Special) Luther McKinney, 44-year-old farmer living southwest of Truro committed suicide last Wednesday morning by hanging himself in the barn where he had gone to do chores.
McKinney had been in poor health for the past three years, and had been confined to the veterans' hospital at Knoxville for about a year. He had also been a patient at the state hospital at Clarinda, from which he was released a year ago. Recently he had appeared to be much improved.
McKinney is survived by his wife and four children.
Funeral services were held from the Methodist church at Truro last Friday, and burial was made at the Blair Chapel cemetery.
