MRS. M. O. TAYLOR DIED HERE MONDAY

Douglas Township Resident Succumbs at Age of 68 Years

Mrs. M. O. Taylor, a well known resident of Douglas township, died at her home west of Winterset Monday. She had been in failing health for several years, and for the past two years had been confined to her bed. She was 68 years of age. (d. 10-5-1942)

Mrs. Taylor was the former Minnie Eldora Penn, and was born at Martensdale on July 1, 1874, the daughter of Edward and Martha Penn. The family moved to Madison county when she was a child, and the balance of her life was spent in this county.

She was married to Marley O. Taylor on Dec. 6, 1893. They were the parents of three children, all of whom survive.

As a child she had united with the Methodist church. She later transferred her membership to the Winterset Presbyterian church and retained it there throughout her life.

She is survived by her husband; one son, Alvin Taylor of West Des Moines; two daughters, Mrs. J. B. Felton of Des Moines and Mrs. Earl Breeding of Winterset; two grandchildren; three brothers, Tom Penn of Mt. Pleasant and Elmer and Edward Penn of Dexter and three sisters, Mrs. Ida Rhodes of Adel, Mrs. Emma McLarnand of Macksburg and Mrs. Mary Johnston of Dexter.

Funeral services were held Wednesday from the Ramsey-Richards funeral home in charge of the Rev. Tom Foglesong of the Winterset Church of Christ. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
