MRS. JAMES PEARSON DIES

Earlham-(Special)-January 19. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Earlham Methodist church for Mrs. James Pearson of near Dexter.

Rev. Cecile Latta delivered the funeral sermon and two musical numbers were furnished by Mrs. Charles Soderberg and Mrs. Peter Bock.

Mrs. Pearson is the former Gladys Garrett and is survived by her husband, her aged father, Menary Garrett, two sisters, Mrs. Inez McKibben and Mrs. Glenn Ramsey, three brothers, Kenneth, Bruce and Paul. Burial was made in the Earlham cemetery.

Gladys Lillian Phearson (sic)

Gladys Lillian Pearson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Menary Garret, was born near Earlham April 19, 1902, and died January 10, 1942, at the age of 39 years 8 months and 21 days.

Her early life was spent in the home of her parents. She attended rural schools while in the grades and graduated from the Earlham high school. She taught in rural schools Dallas and Madison counties and was retained as teacher of the Penn Center school for a period of five years. On February 8, 1927 she was united in marriage to James W. Pearson.

She was a member of Marguerite Rebekah Lodge No. 233 of Earlham and held practically every office in the lodge. She held the office of treasurer of the lodge at the time of her death.

Besides her husband she is survived by her father, three brothers, Kenneth, Bruce and Paul and two sisters, Inez McKibben and Glenn Ramsey, all of Earlham, besides many other relatives and friends.
