FORMER RESIDENT DIES IN FLORIDA

William Lloyd Hahn Worked as Madisonian Printer at One Time

The death of William Lloyd Hahn, former Winterset resident, which occurred at his home in Miami, Fla., August 1, was reported here this week. He was 60 years of age.

Mr. Hahn was the son of the Rev. W. J. and Samantha Hahn and was born September 6, 1877 at LaPorte City, Ia. His father was at one time pastor of the Oak Grove church west of Winterset and as a young man he lived in this community. In 1895 and 1896 he worked as a printer on the Winterset Madisonian.

In 1896 he went to Florida and became a conductor on the Louisville and Nashville railway at Pensacola. At the outbreak of the Spanish-American war, he enlisted in the First Florida infantry. While in the service he was married to Miss Grace Houlette of Winterset, who survives him.

For a number of years, Mr. Hahn was engaged in the hotel business at Kansas City, Mo., but went to Miami, Fla. in 1921 and entered the meat business. For the past 12 years, he has been retired.

In addition to his wife he leaves; three sisters, Mrs. Julia Snyder and his twin, Mrs. Etta Jaset Dickinson of Denver, Colo., and Mrs. Lola Smith of Merchantsville, N.J.; and a brother, Elden E. Hahn of Kansas City.

He was buried with full military honors last Monday. The services were conducted from the Boulevard Christian church in charge of the pastors, the Revs. Frank Harlow and G. W. Watson. Burial was made in the Miami Memorial Park cemetery.
