Farmer of Madison County Was Life-Long Resident of Community
George A. Foster, a life-long resident of Madison county, died at the Winterset hospital Wednesday. He was 78 years of age.
Mr. Foster was born in Madison county on September 3, 1858, and spent his life as a farmer in this community. At the time of his death, his home was on the farm across from the county home, two miles north of Winterset.
His wife, Mrs. Anne Foster, had preceded him in death. He was the son of John and Harriett Lake Foster.
Funeral services were to be held at 1 p.m. today (Friday) from the Tidrick funeral home in Winterset in charge of the Rev. H. L. Olmstead-pastor of the local Church of Christ. Burial was to be made in the Winterset cemetery.

George Alden Foster, son of John and Harriett Foster was born in Madison county, Iowa, September 3, 1858 and passed away at the Winterset hospital, January 20, 1937 at the age of 78 years, 4 months and 17 days.
He was married to Anna E. Carroll of Winterset, Iowa, November 27, 1879 who preceded him in death September 27, 1912. To this union was born four children, John Carroll of Winterset, Mae Johnston of Denver, Colorado, two daughters and one granddaughter, Mable Foster died in infancy. He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Whiting and Mrs. Emma Hubbell of Des Moines and three brothers, Ash of Denver, Colorado, Hebe of Los Angeles, California and Darwin of Truro, Iowa and one granddaughter, Mrs. Bettie Mae Johnston of Denver, Colorado.
Mr. Foster spent most of his life in Iowa and leaves a host of friends and relatives.
Services were conducted by Rev. H. L. Olmstead at 1 o'clock Friday from Tidrick's funeral home. Interment in Winterset cemetery.
