Louis Samuel Gonseth

Louis Samuel Gonseth was born July 15, 1850 at Aigle, Switzerland and passed away at his home in Beggs, Oklahoma, February 3, 1936, aged 85 years, 5 months and 18 days.

On February 23, 1873, he was united in marriage to Marie Louise Cruzsas (?) and to this union fifteen children were born four of whom preceded him in death. His wife preceded him in death, March 8, 1921.

He moved with his family to the United States April 26, 1865, locating in Kingman county, Kansas and became a naturalized citizen of his adopted country. He later moved to Iowa, making his home here until February 6, 1907 when he moved to the Beggs, Oklahoma community locating on a farm two miles north of Beggs where he has since lived.

He leave mourn his loss, six sons, Louis H. of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Feliz of Winterset, John of Murray, Alexander of Wiston, Oregon, Charlie of Beggs, Oklahoma, Frank of Osceola; five daughters, Mrs. Marie Travis of Peru, Mrs. Emma Jones of Springhill, Mrs. Marguerite Jones of Des Moines, Mrs. Lena Bivins of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; forty-one grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, a number of other relatives and friends.
