JOHN ISAAC REYNOLDS

John Isaac Reynolds, son of Isaac and Sarah Jessup Reynolds was born near Carmel, Indiana, August 15, 1859. He departed this life at the home of his son, Ross in Earlham, June 10, 1936, at the age of 76 years nine months and 27 days.

He was the last of a family of eight children to pass on to their reward, being next to the youngest child. He came to Iowa when only 15 years of age, making his home most of the time with his brother, Elwood, until his marriage with Emily Barnett, October 20, 1880.

To this union were born three sons, Leroy and Raymond of Trumansburg, New York and Ross of Earlham, Iowa.

John Reynolds was a birthright member of the Friends Church and took an active part in its services as long as his health permitted.

For over a year he has been in failing health, but through it all maintained a cheerful spirit and often expressed his faith in God and his desire to go when the Master called. His thoughts were much with the future and the loved ones gone on before, though he loved those yet working out their scheme of life.

He leaves to mourn his loss, beside the three sons, four grandchildren, three great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon, June 12th in the Friends church. Conducted by the Rev. Waldo Reece, assisted by the Rev. Wolfe. Interment was in the Earlham cemetery.
