E. EARL HARLAN, FORMER RESIDENT, DIES

Word has been received here of the death of E. Earl Harlan, farmilarly known as "Dud" Harlan, at Salem, Oregon, on June 23rd. Mr. Harlan is the son of W. E. Harlan of Winterset. He was born April 3, 1888, and lived here until in 1921.

The deceased had suffered several strokes and was in the hospital for five months. Pneumonia resulted, causing his death.

He is survived by his father, W. E. Harlan, of Winterset, his wife and one daughter, Mrs. J. Franklin Bisher of Salem, Oregon, and another daughter, Mrs. W. Wiechman of Fort Dodge, and three grandchildren. His mother preceded him in death, dying in 1907.

Funeral and burial services were held at Salem, June 25th.

Burial of E. E. Harlan

The cremated remains of E. Earl (Dud) Harlan who died June 23, were brought here from Salem, Oregon, Saturday, Dec. 10, for burial Sunday in the Winterset cemetery.

Earl was the son of W. E. Harlan of Winterset and was born April 3, 1888. He spent most of his life here, leaving in 1921.

He is survived by his father of Winterset, his wife of Salem, Oregon; two daughters, Mrs. J. Franklyn Bisher of Salem and Mrs. W. Wickman of Fort Dodge.
