Elaine Jean Tucker, 13-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Tucker of Winterset, died last Thursday morning after a brief illness with pneumonia.
The child was born April 29, 1923 in Winterset and spent her life here. She was a member of the Methodist church and had taken a leading role in young people's work there, having served during the past year as president of the King's Herald and Home Guards. She was a second year student in the junior high school.
Immediate survivors are her parents and her two younger brothers, Arnold and Charles.
Funeral services were held from the Methodist church Saturday in charge of the pastor, the Rev. M. R. Talley. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
The pallbearers were Marvin Wilson, Maurice Powers, Billy Paull, Raymond Breen, Wallace Spence and Charles Abrahams. Flower girls were Dawn Wilson, Kathryn Cunningham, Doris Tidrick, Joan Monaghan, Mary Jane Childers and Mary King.

Services were held Saturday afternoon at the Methodist church for Elaine Jean Tucker, 13, who died Thursday morning, following an attack of pneumonia. The Rev. M.R. Talley, pastor of the church was in charge and burial was in the Winterset cemetery.
The daughter of Charles E. and Dell Tucker, she was born April 29, 1923. She was a junior high student, a member of the Methodist church and a life member of the Kings Herald and Home Guards, serving as resident of the society during the last year.
Pallbearers were Marvin Wilson, Maurice Powers, Billy Paull, Raymond Breen, Wallace Spence, and Charles Abrahams. Flower girls were Dawn Wilson, Katherine Cunningham, Doris Tidrick, Joan Monaghan, Mary Jane Childers and Mary King.
