Funeral services for Mrs. Martha Jane Banker, former Madison county resident who died March 17th at Deland, Florida, were held from the United Presbyterian church at Pitzer on March 21. The Rev. W. G. Robertson was in charge of the services. Burial was made in the Penn Center cemetery.
Mrs. Banker died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Arthur DeVault, of Deland, Florida, with whom she had made her home for the last three years.
Mrs. Banker was the former Martha Jane Snyder, and was born in Washington county, Iowa, on March 5, 1862. She came with her parents to Madison county, in 1876. Here she was married in 1879, to Alonzo W. Banker. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. Banker had been affiliated with the United Presbyterian church at Pitzer for 46 years. From 1876 until her removal to Florida, her home was in the Pitzer community.
Immediate survivors are her two daughters, Mrs. DeVault and Mrs. Archer Hebbert of Glendale, California.
