FALL ON ICE FATAL TO MILDRED SHADE

Injury Suffered Two Weeks Ago Results in Death of Local Woman

Miss Mildred Shade, member of a well-known Madison county family, died at the Methodist hospital in Des Moines, Tuesday night.

Miss Shade had suffered a broken hip in a fall on the ice about two weeks ago and her death resulted from complications arising from the injury. She was 44 years of age.

Miss Shade was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Shade of this county and had spent most of her life here. Of recent years she had made her home with her brother, Calvin Shade on a farm located six miles south of Winterset.

In addition to her brother, Calvin, she is survived by two others, George Shade of Winterset and Leland Shade of Woodward and two sisters, Mrs. Will Bailey of Winterset and Mrs. Perry Platt of Peru.

Funeral services were to be held today from the Ramsey-Richards funeral home here in charge of the Rev. M. R. Talley, pastor of the local Methodist church.

Burial was to be made in the Winterset cemetery.
