DEATH OF CARL DRISCOLL

Winterset Man Succumbs Following Illness of Two Months

Carl H. Driscoll, widely-known Winterset business man, died at the Mercy hospital in Des Moines last Saturday following an illness of two months duration. He was 50 years of age.

Mr. Driscoll was born in Kansas on August 16, 1885. As a child he came to Des Moines with his parents, the family shortly later settling near Booneville where he was reared.

He was married on November 30, 1911, to Margaret Smith, at St. Patrick's. He followed farming in Madison county until 1923, when he settled in Winterset. He later entered the ice business here and for the past several years had been associated with Russell Barber in the operation of the Winterset Ice company.

Mr. Driscoll was one of the most widely and favorably known citizens of the community.

He is survived by his widow; three sons: Earl, John and Charles Driscoll; a daughter, Mrs. R. C. Kellogg all of Winterset; two brothers: Alva Driscoll and Leslie Driscoll of Van Meter; and two sisters: Mrs. Fred Perkins of Laurens, Iowa and Mrs. Arthur Davis of Des Moines.

Funeral services were held Monday from St. Joseph's Catholic church in Winterset, in charge of the pastor, the Rev. Wm. Hahessy. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
