August 1917Sabina P. Hadley, daughter of Elizabeth and Edward Hadley, was born January 16, 1859, in Morgan county Indiana. She removed with her parents to Dallas county Iowa in 1861.
She was converted at about 18 years of age.
She was married to William Potter January 20, 1881. To this union were born two daughters, Myrtle Alma, deceased June 3, 1913 and Flossie Elizabeth.
Nearly all her life was spent in Earlham and vicinity. she was a life long member of the Friend's Church and a member of the Home Department of the Sabbath School.
She passed away August 20, 1917 at Oak Dale, Iowa at the age of 59 years, 7 months and 4 days. She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, one daughter Mrs. Flossie Johnson and two brothers Jesse Hadley of Earlham and Elias Hadley of Enitte, Washington.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Friends Church, conducted by Rev. B. B. Hiatt of Stuart, a Friends minister. A considerable company of friends were present to pay their last respects to the memory of a good and faithful woman. Interment was made in Earlham Cemetery. Relatives from a considerable distance were Mrs. Spicy Hadley and Mrs. Cora Foster of Des Moines, Mrs. Goldie Lee of Macksburg and John Potter of Sheldon, Iowa.
