MRS. LEE COCHRAN OF MACKSBURG DIES

Well-Known Resident There Died Dec. 26 at Age of 80 Years

Mrs. Lee Cochran, well known resident of the Macksburg community, died at her home near Macksburg Tuesday, Dec. 26. She was 80 years of age.

Mrs. Cochran had been a resident of Madison county since early life. She was the former Mate Ethel Terry, daughter of Edward and Alice Smith Terry, and was born at Rippey on June 22, 1881. Her father died when she was a child and her mother then married George Whitworth, at which time the family moved to a farm in Madison county.

She was married July 19, 1899, to Forest Lee Cochran, at Winterset. Three infant sons, and a daughter, Mrs. Pauline Ross, preceded her in death.

She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Elizabeth Cochran of Des Moines and Mrs. Ino S. Smid of Creston; a son, Wesley Cochran of Macksburg; a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Hall of Grimes; and two half brothers, Elvie Whitworth of Dallas Center and Earl Whitworth of Macksburg. She also leaves 13 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Friday from the Macksburg Methodist church.
