LLOYD LEEPER RITES SATURDAY

Penn Township Resident Died Dec. 29 at Hospital in Winterset

Kenneth Lloyd Leeper, a prominent farmer in Penn township and a life-long resident of this county, died at Madison county Memorial hospital in Winterset Wednesday, Dec. 29, after an extended illness. He was 62 years of age.

Mr. Leeper was born on a farm in Penn township and spent his entire life as a farmer in this county. He had been a member of the Early Chapel church since he was 11 years of age, and had been active in its affairs.

He was married May 14, 1913, to Faye Evelyn Nolte. They were parents of four daughters, and three sons. Two of the daughters, Evelyn and Mildred, preceded him in death.

Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Irene and Ruby; the three sons, Harold, Richard and Russell; his mother, Mrs. Lydia Leeper of Earlham; a brother, Carroll; and a sister, Mrs. E. C. Cook of Winterset.

Funeral services were held Saturday from the Early Chapel church, conducted by the Rev. William Dilsaver. Burial was made in Penn Center cemetery.

KENNETH LLOYD LEEPER

Kenneth Lloyd Leeper, son of Jesse and Lydia Leeper was born on the 8th day of May 1892. He quietly passed away at the Madison County Memorial hospital after and extended illness, on the evening of December 29 at the age of 62 years, seven months and 21 days. (Buried at Penn Center cemetery)

Lloyd was born on a farm in Penn township and spent his entire life as a farmer in Madison county. Lloyd chose the Christian way of life and joined the Early Chapel church at the age of 11.

On May 14, 1913, he was united in marriage to Faye Evelyn Nolte. Born to this union were four daughters and three sons, Evelyn, Mildred, Harold, Richard, Russell, Irene and Ruby.

In the years to follow, Lloyd with his wife and children took an active part in the work of the church. He served as Deacon as long as his health and strength permitted. At the annual meeting of the church he was given the title of Deacon Emeritus, an honorary title given for his years of service.

His father and two daughters preceded him in death.

He was a loving and devoted father. His entire life was centered around his home and family. One of his greatest joys was to have his children and grandchildren home together. Lloyd was a loyal and trustworthy friend and neighbor. He was always ready to help others in time of need and was held in high regard by all who knew him.

He is mourned and missed not only by his life's companion for 41 years, but also his children; eight grandchildren; his mother, Lydia Leeper of Earlham; his brother, Carroll Leeper of Earlham; his sister, Gladys Cook of Winterset; and a host of relatives, sincere neighbors and friends.
