BETTY J. PARKER GLADSON - Des Moines

Betty J. Parker Gladson, 81, died Wednesday, March 28, 2007, at Tyler House Hospice in Des Moines, IA. Graveside service will be held Saturday March 31, 2007, at 1 p.m. at the Osborn Cemetery east of Lovilia. Everyone is to meet at the Gilbert Funeral Home in Lovilia at 12:45 p.m. Visitation will be from 1 to 7 p.m. Friday with the family present from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Gilbert Funeral Home. The family will decide memorials later.

Betty was born April 4, 1925, at Winterset, IA, the daughter of Ira A. and Lolita (Briggs) Parker. Betty graduated from Walnut High School. She moved to Des Moines and worked for Allied Insurance until her retirement in 1980. She married Delbert Gladson in Mississippi on January 10, 1985. They enjoyed traveling all across the USA. After Del's death in 1991, she moved to Des Moines. Betty enjoyed baking, music, and dancing.

Survivors include her son Ronald L. (Bonnie) Billups of West Des Moines; three sisters Darlene Keuhl and Bev Billups both of Des Moines and Pat (Clark) Bedow of Idaho; four brothers Gary (Karen) Parker of West Des Moines, Gayle (Arlene) Parker of Des Moines, Lynn Parker of Glenwood, IA and Charles (Joan) of Carlisle, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Jack and Gene.
