SERVICE SATURDAY FOR VERNE TAYLOR

Life-Long Resident of This County, Died Dec. 31 at Indianola

Verne F. Taylor, a resident of Madison county for nearly all his life, died at Indianola last Wednesday, Dec. 31. He was 80 years of age.

Mr. Taylor was born in Madison county on Jan. 18, 1878, a son of Levi and Louisa Starkey Taylor. With the exception of one year in Union county, his life was spent in Madison county. He was engaged in farming during his active years.

He was married Oct. 4, 1899, to Maggie Andrews. They were parents of six children. the wife and one daughter, Dorothy Taylor Clark, preceded him in death.

Surviving are the five children, Mrs. Irma Ford and Leon Taylor of Winterset, Mrs. Bessie Sinn of Story City, Mrs. Flossie Cummings of Iowa Falls and Wesley Taylor of Indianola; 12 grandchildren; five great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday from the Richards Funeral home here, conducted by the Rev. Carleton L. Briggs. Burial was made in the North McDonald cemetery.
