EMMA DEAN STERMAN DIES AT IOWA CITY

Was Widow of Formerly Well Known Physician at Peru

Mrs. Emma Dean Sterman, widow of a formerly well-known Peru physician, died this Tuesday, April 15, at University hospital in Iowa City. She was 81 years of age, and had been in failing health for several years.

Mrs. Sterman was a life-long resident of Madison county, and was born here July 7, 1876. She was the former Emma Dean Faught, and was a nurse by profession.

She was married July 6, 1898, to Dr. Wilbur Sterman of Peru. His death occurred many years ago.

She leaves a sister, Mrs. Nellie Erickson of South Minneapolis, Minn.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. this Thursday from the Richards Funeral home in Winterset, conducted by the Rev. J. A. Cunningham, former pastor of the Peru Methodist church. Burial will be made in the Winterset cemetery.

Coordinator's note: Transcribed as published, surname per husband's gravestone is "Sturman". Madison County censuses consistently show her to be born in Illinois.
