Obituary

Mrs. Elizabeth Tate, mother of J. F. Tate of this city, died Friday, May 9th at the residence of H. W. Hardy, where she was temporarily residing. At the time of her death Mrs. Tate was a little over 87 years of age.

She was born in England January 18, 1815. Her husband, Henry Tate, died in 1856. She was the mother of eleven children, seven of whom are still living.

In her early life Mrs. Tate was a member of the Methodist church, but later became a Baptist.

A short funeral service was held in the afternoon and the remains accompanied by her son, taken for burial at Amboy, Ill., the former home of the family.
