Mrs. Laura Ann Cridling, a resident of Madison county for most of her long life, died suddenly Monday night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ethel Clopton, in Macon, Missouri. She was 77 years of age.
Mrs. Cridling was the former Laura Ann Evans and was born December 6, 1858 in Jefferson county, Kansas, the daughter of Henry and Elizabeth Evans. When she was four years old the family moved to Madison county where she was reared and where she was married on November 17, 1878 to John Cridling. They moved to Missouri and later to South Dakota, spending 12 years in those states before returning to Madison county to make their home. Mr. Cridling died on September 12, 1918.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Sale Darnall and Mrs. Fred Wilkinson of Winterset and Mrs. Fred Clopton of Macon, Missouri in addition to seven grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday from the Tidrick funeral home in charge of the Rev. H. L. Olmstead of the Church of Christ. Burial was made in the Baptist cemetery north of Winterset. Six of her grandsons served as pallbearers: Hugo Howell, George Macumber, W. Edward Clark, Joseph Andrews, Hal Darnall and John Kibler.
