WILBUR E. SMITH DIES AT IOWA CITY

Wilbur E. Smith, a life-long resident of Madison county, died Sunday, June 1, at University hospital in Iowa City. He had entered the hospital Saturday and had been scheduled for major surgery.

Mr. Smith was 73 years of age at his death. He was born in Madison county Nov. 11, 1884, a son of Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Smith. His life was spent in farming, and he was engaged in P.M.A. work here for a number of years.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Gene Smith; two grandchildren; two brothers, Lon and Ellis Smith of Winterset; and a sister, Mrs. Ross Farlin of Idaho.

Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Fellowship church, with burial in the Clark cemetery.
