Ed E. Wigton died here last Wednesday

Funeral services for Ed E. Wigton, father of Mrs. C. R. Monagon of Winterset, were held Saturday from the Anderson home for funerals. The Rev. Sherman Hanson, pastor of the Winterset Church of Christ, conducted the services. Burial was made at Newton.

Mr. Wigton was 85 years of age at his death. He was born near Victor, in Poweshiek County, on Feb. 6, 1867, and died last Wednesday, June 4 at the home of Mrs. Monagon in Winterset.

Much of Mr. Wigton’s life was spent in farming, and he lived for several years in Madison County near Peru. In 1930 he moved to Guernsey, Iowa, where he served as postmaster until his retirement. For the past two years he had been an invalid and had been cared for at the home of his daughter here.

Surviving are two sons, Maurice and Harold Wigton of Des Moines; the daughter, Mrs. Monagon of Winterset; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.
