Frank R. Goode, son of Joe and Jane Goode, was born September 17, 1877, near Indianola, Iowa, and departed this life, March 1, 1936, at his home in St. Charles at the age of 58 years, 5 months and 14 days. He grew to manhood on a farm near Milo, and on September 28, 1912 was united in marriage to Malinda Benge, and to this union was born one son, Loren Raymond.

For several years he lived on a farm near Winterset, but deciding to change his occupation he came to St. Charles eight years ago where he bought and operated a barber shop until a few weeks before his death, and in his work made many acquaintances which quickly became friends for he was held in high esteem by all who knew him. While his health had been gradually failing for several years, he only ceased his activities in his shop a few weeks ago.

He is survived by his wife and son Loren, also another son Earl of Winterset and a daughter, Mrs. Irma Johnson of near New Virginia, children by a former marriage, his aged father of Indianola, three brothers, John of Pawnee, Oklahoma, Harley of Winterset, and Charles of Indianola, two sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Conklin of Des Moines and Mrs. Tillie Emery of Ohio and many other relatives and a host of friends.

His funeral was held at the Methodist church Wednesday afternoon in charge of Rev. Barker, assisted by Rev. Carnahan and he was buried in the St. Charles cemetery.
