SIMMERMAN RITES HELD AT LORIMOR

Funeral services for Alfred Simmerman of Winterset were held last Friday from the Watts Funeral home in Lorimor, in charge of the Rev. Mr. Shook, pastor of the Christian church there. Burial was made in the Barney cemetery.

Mr. Simmerman’s death occurred at Winterset, Oct. 28. He was a native of Stark county, Illinois, where he was born Oct. 17, 1876, a son of Mr. and Mrs. George Simmerman. When he was 12 years old he came to Iowa with his parents. They located on a farm southeast of Lorimor, later moving to the Bootjack corner neighborhood in Madison county. He spent most of his live in that community.

He was married Nov. 3, 1937, to Violet Carney at Indianola. They lived near Barney until three years ago, when they moved into Winterset. He is survived by his wife, and a number of nieces and nephews.
