Mrs. Henry Martin, 68 year old St. Charles resident died at the Winterset hospital, Wednesday morning April 29th, after a short illness with pneumonia. She had been in poor health for some time and was brought here for treatment three days ago.
She leaves her husband and two daughters, Mrs. Charles Strawn of St. Charles and Mrs. Harvey Camp of Truro. Funeral arrangements had not yet been made when the Madisonian went to press.

Mrs. Stella Holbrook Martin, 67, who had lived for a number of years a few miles northwest of St. Charles, passed away Wednesday morning at the Winterset hospital after a short illness with pneumonia.
She was united in marriage to Henry L. Martin December 4, 1888 and had lived the most of her life in and near St. Charles.
She is survived by her husband and two daughters, Mrs. Jessie Strawn of near St. Charles and Mrs. Dorothy Camp of near Truro and fifteen grandchildren. Other immediate relatives are three brothers and three sisters, Charles Holbrook of Oklahoma, who came for the funeral and Mrs. Margaret Barrett of Arkansas and Roy and George Holbrook of California.
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon and in the absence of the pastor, D. F. Barker, they were conducted by Rev. Carnahand of the United Presbyterian church and burial was made in the St. Charles cemetery.

Mrs. Hattie Martin of Milo came Thursday to attend the funeral of her sister-in-law, Mrs. Henry Martin. Others who came from a distance for the services were, W. S. Miller, of Creston, Mrs. Nora Longstreet, of Afton, Mr. & Mrs. W. O. Creger, Mrs. Alice Strawn, Mr. & Mrs. Ira Comp, Mrs. Clyde Miller and Mrs. Lulu Reed, of Truro.

Death entered the homes of two families of South township last week and took away the wife and mother in the family. Mrs. Henry L. Martin died at the Winterset hospital last Wednesday morning and funeral services were held at the Methodist church Friday afternoon conducted by Rev. Carnahan in the absence of Rev. Barker, her pastor and burial was made St. Charles Cemetery.
Stella Holbrook, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Holbrook, was born in Virginia township, Warren county, March 11, 1869 and died April 29, 1936 at the age of 67 years, one month and 18 days. Her grandparents on her maternal side, were Mr. and Mrs. Charles H. Young who were early pioneers of Ohio township. She was married to Henry L. Martin December 4, 1888 and lived in and near St. Charles it’s that time.
She is survived by her husband and two daughters, Mrs. Jesse Strawn St. Charles, and Mrs. Dorothy Camp of Murray and 15 grandchildren, also two brothers and three sisters. Her brother, Charles Holbrook, from Oklahoma, was present at the funeral
