Tuesday, August 3, 1937Mrs. Ella Armstrong Dies
St. Charles-(Special)-July 30. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Patterson here Friday afternoon at the M. E. church for Mrs. Ellen Sweezy Armstrong, 74, who passed away in Des Moines, Wednesday at the Methodist hospital, following an operation for cancer.
Mrs. Armstrong had lived in St. Charles more than forty years moving to Des Moines about three years ago. She is survived by two sons, Guy and Ralph and one daughter, Mrs. Ruth Smith with whom she made her home, all of Des Moines, two grandchildren, Ellen Jean Smith and Richard Armstrong of Des Moines, three sisters, Anna Sweezy of Truro, Mrs. Jane Fulton of Fayette, Idaho and Mrs. Nettie Potter of Perry and one brother, Chas. Sweezy of Truro.
Burial was in the St. Charles cemetery beside her husband, who passed away about three years ago.
